Perfect for anyone with a two-story home or a basement who needs assistance getting up and down the stairs, the Acorn 120 Straight Stairlift works only on straight stairs.
The Acorn 120 Stairlift is built for straight stairs only, and is a new and improved version of the original Acorn Stairlift. With a smooth start and stop, you will enjoy a safe and comfortable ride up and down the stairs. This lift fits directly to the stairs themselves rather than to the wall, and requires no structural changes to your home. When not in use, the chair and footrest fold away easily so that they are unobtrusive which allows everyone to continue using the stairs. This unit operates at a speed of approximately five inches per second and has a weight capacity of 300 pounds.
The Acorn 120 Straight Stairlift offers numerous features to provide you with safety and convenience. A padded seat and backrest provide comfort while you enjoy the ride, and a safety belt is included to keep you safe and secure. Operation is easy, requiring no more than a touch, which is great for people with limited dexterity. The seat swivels so that you don't have to twist your body when getting on or off, and locks into place for safety while you ride. A lockable on and off switch provides child safety by preventing them from using it while it is locked. Two remote controls allow you to operate your lift so that it can be shared with another person in the household. Pressing the button will either raise or lower the stairlift automatically.
Overall the Acorn 120 Straight Stairlift provides convenience, safety and security to those people who find it difficult or impossible to use stairs. Additional safety features include five sensors located on the footrest and carriage which automatically stop the stairlift if there are any obstructions in the way. An optional manual hinged rail is available to lift the bottom part of the rail out of the way in case your stairs are located near a door. This allows the bottom part of the rail to be lifted up and folded out of the way manually giving more room and greater access at the foot of the stairs.
The seat could be a little more comfortable
The only complaint that I have is the seat. It could have been made to be more comfortable than what it is. Other than the seat, it works well and I've yet to have any problems with it.
Does what it's supposed to do
Has never left me stranded. Use it to get up and down the basement steps to do laundry.
